Duke Nukem appears to have an official film in production, entrusted to Legendary Entertainment and the creators of Cobra Kai.
There is a Duke Nukem film in the works, apparently by the creators of the Cobra Kai series and with production entrusted to Legendary Entertainment, therefore a project of considerable importance for the film adaptation of the famous shooter.
The news comes from Hollywood Reporter, which in the sector can be considered a particularly reliable source, and is also accompanied by various additional information. At the helm of the Duke Nukem project there would therefore be Legendary Entertainment , a company that has recently also dealt with Dune and which has obtained the film rights in accordance with Gearbox.
The management of the film is in the hands of Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg in the role of producer, all responsible for the excellent Cobra Kai series on Netflix.
To collaborate with these also Jean Julien Baronnet of Marla Studios, a specialist in video game adaptations after having also worked on Assassin’s Creed .
Currently, the production has started work on the screenplay and is looking for an official writer for the film adaptation, as well as a designated director, so the project is still in the preliminary phase. However, the names involved are high-profile, so we can expect great things from this reinterpretation of Duke Nukem on the big screen.
