Ghost of Tsushima already has a lead writer, but we still don’t know who will be honored to play the lead role. Apparently, two recognized actors are fighting for the engagement, and one of them – Andrew Koji – known for example from Warrior or Bullet Train, is very interested in engagement.
The British-Japanese actor in an interview with the editorial office of EW confirmed that he is a huge fan of Ghost of Tsushima . Jin Sakai’s adventure was completed more than once, or even twice, having a lot of fun doing it. As soon as he heard about the film, he immediately expressed his desire to play the role of “the last samurai on Tsushima”:
“I’m going after Ghost of Tsushima — that’s what I’m going to do. I would love that. I think I can do a really good Jin Sakai. I can bring my own spin to it. I’ve played [the video game] twice now. I was thinking about it because [the adaptation has] been on the horizon, all the team talking about it. It would have to stand by itself, because the game’s so good. Let that exist by itself, and the film should be something slightly different. That’s the problem with those video game films.
Koji thinks he can play Jin Sakai really well, bringing his signature style to him. He is well aware of the brutality and nudity that would occur in Sony’s production. The Briton even referred to the appearance in hot springs – as he himself admitted, he would not have any problems with “showing his ass” just before taking a bath.
