In the Marvel comics, superheroes are busy exploring the Darkhold, a powerful grimoire created by the Elder God Chthon, a story told in the Darkhold Alpha series. So far, the heroes fail to harness the power of Darkcold.
When it became clear that Chthon might return soon, the Scarlet Witch and the superheroes who joined her took possession of the Darkhold and began to research the book, preparing to fight back against God. But the heroes have dropped in on the Darkhold too often.
As a result, the grimoire began to “corrupt” superheroes, changing their essence and appearance. Iron Man, for example, now has a new armour: officially it is called “desecrated”, but the name “meat” will also work.
After the influence of the Darkhold, Tony Stark’s flesh apparently grew monstrously: now it protrudes from almost all the holes in the armour. We do not yet know exactly how this affected his combat capabilities – the transformation took place on the last pages of the issue.
At the same time, Darkhold also distorted other heroes. On the pages below, you can try to get to know Spider-Man, Blade, Wasp and Black Bolt.
Apparently, ComicBook notes, Stark will have problems using some of the weapons. Judging by the concept art of the armour, the repulsor discharges will first pierce Stark’s flesh, and only then fly into the enemy.
More on this in the Darkhold: Iron Man comic, which debuts its first issue on October 13th.
